Saina Nehwal has made history by reaching the final of All England Badminton Championship.She defeated Sun Yu of China in the semi-final in straight sets.
The world no. 3 reached the semis of the same event in 2010 and 2013 but lost both the games. Saina would become the third Indian to bag the title if she wins it this time around . Prakash Padukone in 1980 and P Gopichand in 2001 are the two Indians who have done it in the past.
Saina would face the winner of the second semi final between Carolina of Spain and Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei.It is a big relief for Saina that she will not have to face a Chinese player in the final . Saina's record against chinese players has not been great in the past few years.
Saina said ," It's a big hurdle because many people think that I have to get into the final anyway - and that I should win every tournament I play .I like that but it's not easy .So, I just watched Shah Rukh Khan and tried to play the best". She also said that she would consider this as just another Super series final .
