On May 19,2015 , BCCI selectors are going to pick the team for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh . Sources inside BCCI state that Ganguly will sign up for a post with the Indian Team.
There are three roles that is being discussed for Sourav Ganguly.
TEAM DIRECTOR :
A role of Team Director which Ravi Shastri did during the World cup is up for grabs as some members of the BCCI don't want Ravi to continue with that role.
HEAD COACH :
The tenure of Duncan Fletcher as the Indian team's head coach ended with the world cup in Australia.The post of the Head coach is still vacant.And many experts say that Ganguly is the man for the job.The expertise and experience of Ganguly will help the players a lot.And Ganguly's attitude is to go for the kill and no place for defensive mindset.This might help the Indian test team which has faced severe criticism for its defensive play over the past few years.
HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER :
This role will give Ganguly ,the freedom to do whatever possible to improve the team's performance.BCCI will hand over the responsibility of picking the coach and other support staffs to Ganguly.This gives Ganguly much more freedom than the role of a team manager or director.
The nation wants an Indian Coach and Ganguly is the right man for the job .But Sourav has not made a comment on this speculation.Let's wait for DADA's response.
